WRAL Reporter Visits Vision Credit

WRAL reporter Stacy Davis paid a visit to Vision Credit on Monday. Her investigation was to determine how credit is becoming more important now than ever.

Stacy interviewed me, the President of Vision Credit Education and North Carolina State Treasurer Richard Moore for the story. We explained how the tightening credit situation on Wall Street was already affecting consumers locally.

Treasurer Moore noted that the cost of credit was higher now. He said “good credit is going to mean more a year from today than it did a year ago.”

He pointed out that if you have anĀ adjustable rate mortgage, you should “pay attention to your credit, and have an understanding you may have to begin paying more on rates when rates reset.”

I also added that it is not just homeowners that might feel the pinch. Many people are having a difficult time simply getting approved for an apartment rental. Landlords may not be willing to rent to someone with damaged credit.
