New Economic Data Suggests Recession

PNC Acquires National City

In a move that is heralded as the “template for regional bank takeovers,” PNC Financial Services Group Inc. will become the fifth-largest U.S. Bank (based on deposits). National City Corp. was under some pressure to find a buyer, since it was to be left out of the government bailout. Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates Charged with Violations

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has charged a Dallas debt collection firm with violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. NC Eliminates Yield Spread Premiums on Subprime Mortgages

Citi Changes Minimum Payment Calculation

Many credit card companies still include many transaction fees into the minimum payment calculation. This means a balance transfer could cause your minimum payment to skyrocket for 1 month, thereby jeopardizing your ability to remain current. Now Citi is making a change.
