Maryland Has New Financial Counseling Hotline

Maryland residents now have a new hotline devoted to financial counseling. This collaboration between nonprofit organizations gives residents a source for budget advice and credit counseling.
The hotline is a result of a partnership between CCCS of Maryland and Delaware and the Baltimore CASH (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) and Maryland CASH campaigns. The formal announcement advises residents that they will be able to receive the following:
- budget assistance
- help with debt collectors
- managing money
- information about credit
- financial goal-setting
What the formal announcement did not include was another added benefit that residents are able to take advantage of. Baltimore CASH and Maryland CASH campaigns provide numerous asset building opportunities and volunteer programs to help area residents.
These are additional services that Maryland residents can take advantage of:
- homeownership assistance
- individual development accounts
- free income tax preparation and electronic filing
