Analysis
TransUnion markets the TransUnion credit score on its www.transunion.com website. They sell expensive credit monitoring products in conjunction with this credit score.
This score is different from another consumer credit score marketed by TransUnion on its www.transunioncs.com website. That TransRisk score is also a consumer product that is not FICO based.
TransUnion markets consumer and lender versions of VantageScore, which was developed in conjunction with Equifax and Experian. VantageScore is not widely accepted by lenders.
Lenders that subscribe to TransUnion reports use the Empirica score. This product is available only to lenders, and differs from the consumer scoring products marketed by TransUnion.
