Definition
A seasoned trade line is any major credit account that has maintained favorable status for an extended period of time.
Analysis
Seasoned trade lines must be at least 2 years old to demonstrate favorable repayment on a long-term basis. The older the account, the greater importance that the account has in credit scoring formulas.
Credit scoring models appropriate 10% of their influence on credit history. This means that accounts that have been open for longer periods of time will carry more weight in risk scoring models.
