Definition
The last reported date is a timestamp for the latest update to a credit report item provided by that creditor.
Analysis
The last reported date signifies how up-to-date information is that is listed on a credit report. An item that was updated within the last 2 weeks is generally more reliable and accurate than an item that was last reported 6 months prior.
The purpose of listing the last reported date is to allow anyone initiating a credit check to understand how “fresh” the information is.
The last reported date has nothing to do with the date of last activity, which records the latest account activity.
