Event Date: Thursday, October 16, 2008

(Wilson, NC) This year’s job fair is expected to attract more than 800 attendees and 50 employers. You may meet employers that have job openings and find out more about the opportunities that these companies offer.

Time:

10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Location:

Wilson Recreation Center

500 Sunset Road

Wilson, NC 27893

If you are currently unemployed or consider yourself to be underemployed (seeking a better job), then this could be a great opportunity to meet the local employers that have available job openings. According to Amber Denning at the Wilson County Department of Social Services, “most employers will accept applications and resumes at their booth and some will conduct interviews.”

There are some tips that we recommend in order to make the most out of your experience:

Wear professional attire.

Bring printed copies of your resume on plain white paper.

Ask questions about the company to see if it is a good fit for you.

Most importantly, shake hands and make eye contact!

If you need help with your resume prior to the event, contact one of the career coaches at Vision Credit Education at 919-388-0882 or 866-832-2826. Sometimes, a few tweaks to your resume can make the difference in receiving an interview.

You may stop by our booth for constructive criticism on your resume. Additionally, you may inquire about our homeownership program, including free credit reports and homeownership analysis. A good job can give you the advantage you need to buy your own home.

For more information about the job fair, contact the Wilson County Department of Social Services at 252-206-4000.
